For the customer service and the price, they get 5 stars. The food is so good! The mac & cheese is good, but not amazing. Otherwise, everything else I've had smacks! First time trying them last month, and I promise I will be back! They also give free treats (like a slice of cake or a cupcake).

Small spot, so I recommend ordering for pick up or delivery. If you want delivery, it's a $16 minimum I believe. If you want to support local food, this is your spot.

Small place, friendly staff. Found only the chicken wings worth ordering. Tried baked chicken, macaroni and cheese, yams and sweet potato pie. Even sweet tea was awful.

The food was amazing. The mac & cheese is the best I've had it's almost as good as my moms so hard to tell it was that good I'm going every week just to eat them. The sticky chicken wings sauce is sweet savory just an explosion of flavor is in my mouth  The guys in the kitchen really know what they're doing with these southern favorites!!

We had an interesting experience here today. Maybe the guy at the front was new? But leaving with my food I felt very overwhelmed by the experience.

I don't know why they were so confused by me asking for something off the menu but even after clarifying that I wanted it however they make it, they still put it on white bread(which was something my friend ordered and started the confusion on why I would want the sandwich on white bread which is not at all what I said and the nice gentlemen in the kitchen even clarified that I wanted the regular roll). The chicken tenders in it were a bit dry.

The one great thing about this place was the Mac and cheese was reeeeeeal good! I would go there for that again.

They did also give away free pieces of cake to everyone which my friend said was good too.

Southern girl here (Panhandle Florida, born and raised). Had a comfort food craving and came across this spot on Yelp. Food For the Soul happens to be one of Providence's attempts at southern food. Not bad!

The menu and pricing here are on point for cheap and simple southern food, generally. I came here for fried fish and got a whole dinner with 2 sides, cornbread, a free sample of yams, and a free slice of cake all for $7 + tax = $7.49. The mac 'n cheese was great, but I was hoping it would have that baked crusty cheese goodness on top like I could get anywhere back home. The collard greens could use a little more flavor though, as I'm used to the kind of greens that get rendered with smoked turkey for forever and a day. The fish was some white fish that was seasoned well and complemented my hot sauce nicely. Lastly, my favorite part, the CORNBREAD was AWESOME. I gotta try the fried chicken next time.

The guy at the counter was super nice and you could really tell he was passionate about this business doing well. Although the interior isn't the cleanest looking, it's simple. Like the south. A few tables and some chairs, that's all you really need in order to have a heavy meal before your food coma hits.
